As of January 1st, 2014, the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN) requires verification of all Whois contact information.
If you receive emailed requests from ICANN to verify (and correct, if necessary) the Whois contact information for your domain, please do this by clicking on the links provided in the email.
Failure to verify your Whois Contact Information can result in suspension of your domain name by ICANN. If your domain name is suspended, your website will be inaccessible.
It's extremely important to keep all contact information for your domain name (as well as your website) up-to-date. Failure to do this can prevent you from receiving important information and can lead to interruptions in service.
7/31/15 UPDATE: Domain registrars ask you to supply the following contact information:
• Owner/Holder (Registrant) Contact
• Administrative Contact
• Technical Contact
• Billing Contact
The first two contacts are most important. Be sure to provide at least one email address that's outside of any domain that you own. For example, if you own the (hypothetical) domains mydomain.com, mydomain1.com and mydomain2.com, you should provide at least one contact email address that is not in any of these domains. This is important in case something goes wrong with your domain(s) and you are unable to receive email sent to that domain. Free email accounts are available at hotmail.com, gmail.com, aol.com, yahoo.com, and many Internet Service Providers such as Comcast and Cox. Be sure to check your non-domain email accounts regularly!
(Please do not forward verification requests from ICANN to Precision Computing Arts, as maintaining accurate contact information is your responsibility as the domain owner).
