* Sitebuilder Update: SSLv3 Security Update (POODLE)

Google recently posted an update about a security vulnerability with SSLv3, an old version of SSL connection technology used mainly with Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP or older. The new vulnerability enables attackers to decode encrypted connections. For this reason, SSLv3 support is being disabled on all SiteBuilder Systems.

* Why Your Website Doesn't Appear on Page 1 of Google Results

You may be wondering why your website no longer appears on page 1 of Google search results. The answer is complicated. Some of the answer depends on the content of your site (something you can control). But a lot is due to changes in the way Google does business (something you cannot control). An article by Rolfe Winkler in the Tuesday, August 19, 2014 edition of The Wall Street Journal, page B1, outlines the differences between Google's goals before it went public in 2004 and Google's goals in 2014.

* Sitebuilder Websites are Responsive and Mobile Friendly (UPDATE)

Have you received emails or phone calls saying your website is not responsive or mobile friendly? If so, please ignore them. These messages are simply trying to frighten you into paying for something you already have with our Sitebuilder website hosting system.

It's not easy to design websites that play perfectly well with others. Today's plethora of desktop, laptop, and mobile devices offer varying screen sizes, orientations, browsers, and operating systems. Although no single website can work exactly the same on every device, all Sitebuilder websites offer a "mobilized" feature called responsive HTML5, which adapts to a variety of devices.

* SiteBuilder Websites are NOT Affected by the Heartbleed Security Issues

Heartbleed is a flaw in OpenSSL, the open-source encryption standard used by the majority of websites that need to transmit the data that users want to keep secure. We checked with our web hosting system developers today, and SiteBuilder websites are not affected by this flaw. Here is what our system developers wrote on April 11, 2014:

"You may have heard about a new security flaw called Heartbleed which is being reported about this week. This flaw effects most websites that use SSL encryption and in particular SSL implementations that use OpenSSL. We do not use OpenSSL and our systems are not affected by this security flaw."

How to Prevent Legitimate Contact Forms On Your Website From Being Treated as SpamContact forms are an important part of receiving information from people who visit your website. To prevent your Sitebuilder contact form emails from being treated as spam, your website account should specify a contact Email Address that is hosted with our email servers (Example: info@yourdomain.com) rather than an outside email service such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, cs.com, cox.net, etc. Using a website hosted email account is a more professional way to do business anyway, so making this change is desirable for many reasons. ...more details.

The IOS7 home screen refresh animation made me dizzy. So, I used iPad to take a picture in a darkened room, creating a black image that was saved on the Camera Roll. Next, I opened Wallpaper Settings and selected the black photo from the camera roll.
